Pupillometry is a popular tool for studying cognitive and neural processes, but eye blinking can confound measurements by inducing blink-locked pupillary responses (BPR). This study characterized BPR properties, demonstrated their cognitive dependency, and developed a probabilistic algorithm to de-confound pupillary data. The algorithm improves measurement validity and enhances the statistical power of pupillometry experiments.

These effects are hypothesized to involve upregulation of GABAergic neurons, which increases synaptic inhibition and metabolic energy consumption. This suggests that GABAergic modulation plays a critical role in the circuit-level effects of tDCS on EVC

This study proposed a method to improve multichannel transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) focality by averaging injection current patterns optimized across multiple head models. Results showed that using a mean current pattern from at least 13 head models significantly enhanced stimulation focality compared to a single standard model. This approach offers a practical solution when individual MRIs are unavailable.
